IWU Men Gain 79-60 Seniors' Night Win over Elmhurst

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan men's basketball team shot 65 percent in the second half and 59 percent for the game to grab a 79-60 win over Elmhurst on Seniors' Night at the Shirk Center on Saturday (Feb. 18).

The Titans improved to 19-6 overall and 10-4 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin and will play a team to be determined next Friday in a CCIW tournament semifinal game at North Central in Naperville, Ill.
The championship game will be at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, also in Naperville.

Senior Jordan Zimmer knocked in 4 3-pointers and scored a game-high 21 points while junior Kevin Reed added 13 and sophomore Andrew Ziemnik scored 10.
Senior Stephen Rudnicki handed out a game-best 5 assists.

The Bluejays, whose season ends with a 12-13 overall record and a 6-8 CCIW mark, had five players in double figures with James Robertson leading the way with 12. Zack Boyd had 10 points and a game-best 9 rebounds.

IWU made 6 of 13 from beyond the 3-point arc and connected on only 13 of 21 free throws (.619). The Jays shot .355 from the field (22 of 62) and made 7 of 21 3-pointers. Elmhurst shot 15 free throws and made 9.

The Titans' bench outscored the Bluejays' bench by a 23-8 margin and IWU got 36 rebounds to 34 for Elmhurst. Seventeen of the Jays' rebounds were on the offensive end.
