FARMINGTON, Maine -- Thomas College outlasted the University of Maine at Farmington for an 83-77 overtime victory over the Beavers in North Atlantic Conference men's basketball action today in Dearborn Gymnasium.

UMF (15-10, 14-4) and Thomas (14-10, 11-7) closed out their regular seasons and await the NAC postseason seedings, which are scheduled to be announced later today.

Franklin Salvador (Somerville, Mass.) netted a game-high 26 points, including six 3-pointers, to lead the Terriers to victory. Salvador's pull-up jumper with 3:05 left in overtime gave Thomas the lead for good. Stanley Greene Jr. (Dorchester,Mass.) and Salvador connected on seven of eight free throws over the final 1:18 of overtime to seal the victory.

Jarrad DeVaughn (Brockton, Mass.) pitched in 21 points in the win with Greene Jr. finishing with 16 points and Martin Cleveland (Portland, Maine) adding 12 points and nine rebounds along with four blocks, including two big swats in overtime.

Pet Sumner (Cramerton, N.C.) tallied 24 points for the Beavers, including a 12-for-12 performance from the foul line, while Kevin Leary (Manchester, Maine) netted a career-high 21 points with six threes and Ben Johnson (Manchester, Maine) providing 12 points and nine rebounds. Joe McCloskey (Howland, Maine) also snagged nine boards in the loss. Leary and seniors Tim Gingras (Winthrop, Maine), Dan Kane (Bradford, Maine) and Shane Tracy (Sangerville, Maine) were honored following their final regular-season home game.

Behind 18 first-half points by Leary, the Beavers led 39-33 at the break, but the two teams battled throughout the second half with six ties and four lead changes. A 10-3 stretch by the Terriers, featuring a pair of DeVaughn's treys, gave Thomas a 69-64 advantage with 3:23 to go.

UMF scratched its way back, holding Thomas without a field goal for more than three minutes, with Sumner stroking three free throws with 20 seconds remaining to give the Beavers a 72-70 edge. Salvador connected with Cleveland on a layup to tie the contest at 72-72 to send the game into overtime.

After an exchange of free throws by Sumner and Cleveland, the Terriers came up with a stop and Salvador hit the jumper to give Thomas a 76-74 lead. Another Thomas stand and a pair of offensive rebounds led to two foul shots by Greene Jr. and a 78-74 advantage with 1:18 to go. Greene Jr. knocked one of two following a UMF miss to extended the lead to 79-74 with 45 seconds to play.

Nate Carson (Orrington, Maine) knocked down a three to make things interesting with the lead down to 79-77 with 28 seconds left, but Greene Jr. and Salvador each converted a pair at the foul line to help Thomas seize an 83-77 victory.
