ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Nate Novosel and John DiBartolomeo combined for 37 points as the host University of Rochester defeated the University of Chicago 59-57 in University Athletic Association men's basketball action Sunday afternoon.

Game Summary

• Neither team led by more than nine points during the game's first 17 minutes.
  
  
• Leading 28-25 with just under three minutes to play in the first half, Rochester (13-7 overall, 4-5 UAA) closed out the period with a 10-0 run to take a 38-25 advantage at the break. Chicago managed only one field goal attempt during the final 2:31 of the half.
  
  
• Rochester scored the first basket of the second stanza to take its largest lead of the day, 40-25. 
  
  
• Michael Sustarsic (Liberty, Ind./ Union County) then sunk three 3-point field goals during a 2:22 stretch to cut the deficit to 43-36 with 15:47 remaining in the contest.
  
  
• Rochester increased its lead to eight points, 55-47, on a Rob Reid layup at the 6:23 mark, but Chicago (11-9, 4-5) then used a 7-0 run to close to within a point, 55-54, with 4:35 left.
  
  
• The Yellowjackets regained a five-point edge, 59-54, on baskets from Chris Dende with 4:13 to go and from DiBartolomeo at the 1:39 mark.
  
  
• Sustarsic's fourth 3-pointer of the day with :18 left drew the Maroons back to within a basket, 59-57.
  
  
• Rochester failed to convert the front end of a one-and-one free throw opportunity twice in the game's final 14 seconds, but the Maroons missed a 3-point shot with :03 remaining and a shot from halfcourt as time expired.
