GROVE CITY, Pa. - The Presidents' Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Game of the Week featuring Westminster College at Grove City College lived up to the hype as the Wolverines won 80-78 in an exciting finish. After a Grove City missed free throw with five seconds left in the game, Westminster was unable to connect on a potential game-winning three-pointer.
 
The Titans fell to 5-16 overall and 4-9 in the PAC, while the Wolverines improved to 9-12 overall and 5-8 in the conference.

Westminster was up 42-38 at halftime, however Grove City kept battling and took its largest lead of the game with the score of 56-50 with 13:32 left in the second half. Westminster answered with an 8-2 run capped off by two free throws by freshman Ben Donlow (Poland, OH / Poland Seminary) to knot it at 58 apiece. After a missed Wolverines' three-point jumper, the Titans regained the lead after a fade away jumper from junior Ron Martino (Youngstown, OH / Cardinal Mooney).

With the game tied at 67-67 and 6:48 on the clock, Grove City mustered a 6-0 run to take a late 73-67 lead. Westminster continued to chip away and cut the Wolverines' lead down to 79-77 with 1:45 remaining, following a traditional three-point play from junior Reuben King (Tarentum, PA / Highlands).

Donlow recorded his fifth career double-double with scoring 24 points (9-for-15), including career-highs of four three-pointers and 15 rebounds.  The Wolverines' defense clamped down on Westminster's leading scorer junior Doug Smith (South Park, PA / South Park) to just six points (who averaged 15.0 coming in). Sophomore Anthony Thomas (New Castle, PA / Union) scored 21 points off 8-for-12 shooting, which included three three-pointers.

Off the bench, King added 13 points with 4-for-6 shooting (including two three-pointers). Junior Adam Carswell (Painesville, OH / Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) added seven rebounds.
Both teams shot an identical 51.8% (29-56) from the floor. Westminster's 13 three-pointers were second highest on the season.

The Titans are back in action on Wednesday as they host Thomas More at 8 p.m. that will be held in conjunction with Senior Day.
