Yellowjackets pull away from Blue Devils in second half

MENOMONIE (February 1, 2012) – Despite a career-high 28 points by UW-Stout's Alex Oman (So, Lake Elmo, Minn) UW-Superior slowly pulled away in the second half and went on to take a 75-64 win over UW-Stout Wednesday.

With the score tied 34-34 at halftime, the Yellowjackets gradually built a lead that runed into double digits midway through the half. 

Stout (5-15, 1-10) managed to cut away at the lead around the five minute mark, pulling to within 68-62 at 3:58, but a pair of free throws by Ben Aalfs and a 3-pointer by Trent Davis built the Yellowjacket lead back to 11.

Oman was 10-for-19 from the floor and landed 3-of-7 three-pointers. He made 5-of-7 free throws. Jarvis Ragland (So, Milwaukee) scored 12 points for the Blue Devils.

The Yellowjackets' Aalfs scored 26 points and had 12 rebounds, while Bronson Byrne added 12 points.

Stout will be at UW-Platteville, Saturday, Feb. 4.
