NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Drew Venter's double-double (11 points, 10 rebounds) helped guide the Emerson College men's basketball team past Norwich University 53-41 Jan. 28 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at Andrews Gymnasium. Teammate Eli Kell-Abrams also had 11 points while dishing out a game-high five assists for EC (3-16, 3-10 GNAC).

Senior forward Antonio Davis (Albany, N.Y.) netted a double-double with a team-high 10 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Cadets (5-13, 4-8 GNAC). Fellow senior Leland Brunswick (San Francisco, Calif.) contributed 10 points and eight rebounds.

After being down 25-9 Norwich used hot shooting (57.1 percent) from behind the arc in the first half to pull the score close at the break, 32-26. NU could not close the gap after halftime, however, trailing by double digits for most of the second frame.

The Cadets look to bounce back Feb. 2 in a critical GNAC contest at Mount Ida. That game is set to tipoff at 6 p.m. in Newton, Mass.
