San Antonio - Trinity's men's basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak with a 66-50 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference victory over Rhodes College on Friday night.

Trinity (10-8, 5-4) moved into second place in the SCAC West Division with the win, trailing only Austin College in the standings.

The Tigers held a 38-25 halftime lead, and basically never looked back in handing Rhodes just its third conference loss in 10 games.  Rhodes never led in the game, after Trinity opened the contest on a 9-0 run.

After Trinity led by as many as 16 points in the first half, the Lynx cut it to seven in the final minutes, but the Tigers scored six unanswered points to close the half with a double-digit advantage.  Rhodes got to within nine a few minutes into the second half, but would get no closer after a 10-0 Trinity run.

Zach Lambert led three Tiger players in double figures, scoring 20 points on 9-15 shooting.  Robert Kitzinger also had 14 points, and Heath Hopson chipped in with 16 points off the bench.  Hopson hit 6-6 from the field and 3-3 from the free throw line, and led Trinity with seven rebounds.

Jonathan Wilt flirted with a triple-double, scoring seven points to go with his six rebounds and six blocked shots.  Matt Selling also had seven points off the bench, hitting 3-5 from the field in his 11 minutes of work.

Andrew Galow led Rhodes with 12 points, while Shane Watson and Kory Kilpatrick had 10 points each for the Lynx.

Trinity resumes its SCAC weekend with a 2:00 p.m. game against Millsaps College on Sunday afternoon.
