Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's basketball team won their sixth straight game with a 76-55 victory over Mount Saint Mary College today in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams are now 14-4 overall, 10-1 in conference play, while the Knights drop to 13-5, 8-3 in the Skyline.

Farmingdale led the entire first half and held a 36-19 edge at the break. In the second, the Knights came out slow but trailing 41-25 at the 16:51 mark, they used a 16-2 run to cut the deficit to two points, 43-41 with 12:14 remaining.

The Rams scored the next five points to go up 48-41 and would not look back as they held the Knights to just 30-percent shooting and 9-percent from long range in the 21-point victory.

Junior forward AJ Matthews (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had a monster game finishing with 22 points, a career-high 23 rebounds (new school record), nine blocks (breaking his own record of 8), while also adding two assists. Senior guard Dyshaun Flournoy (Brentwood, N.Y.) scored 16 points, four assists and three steals, while senior guard Joshua Smith (Deer Park, N.Y.) finished with 10 points, five rebounds and three assists.

For the Mount, senior forward Kevin Milella (Floral Park, N.Y.) led with 18 points, while senior forward Carlos Valdez (Carolina, Puerto Rico) scored 11 points and 11 rebounds.

The Rams will now face St. Joseph's on the road on Wednesday, February 1st at 7:45 p.m.
