MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.-- Nathan Roeder continued his red hot scoring streak by leading five Rams in double figures as North Central University Men's Basketball earned their fourth consecutive victory at home on Tuesday night. NCU and Martin Luther College were tied at 38 at the half despite the visitors leading by as many as 11 in the opening stanza. But Roeder poured in 22 second half points to help NCU earn a season sweep of the Knights in a 96-78 pull away win.

Martin Luther College (New Ulm, Minn.) came out ready to play and shot over 47 percent in the first half including pushing their lead to 11 at 9:32 left in the half. But from that point on NCU went on an 18-7 run to close the half tied with the Knights.

North Central was able to take their first lead of the game right out of the locker room on a lay up from sophomore wingman Andrew Berndt(Andover, Minn.) but MLC recovered to take a 5 point lead at the 17:09 mark of the second half. From that point on the Rams outscored the Knights 53-30 to get their ninth win of the year and move to 9-9 on the season.

Junior guard Nathan Roeder (Hudson, Wis.) was at the forefront of a Rams offense that has scored 85 or more points in three straight games. Roeder led all scorers at the half with 12 but then dropped in 22 second half points to help the Rams pull away from Martin Luther. Roeder's impressive stat line included 34 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals and just one turnover while going 10-20 from the floor and 11-11 from the free throw line. But Roeder was one of five Rams who scored in double figures.

Freshman forward Jordan HarrellBryce Burkman (Maple Grove, Minn.) just missed a double-double with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Junior guardDylan McKneely (Baton Rouge, La.) and Andrew Berndt each added 10 points and 6 rebounds.

With the victory NCU has now won five of their last six including four in a row since losing a technical filled heart breaker verses Valley Forge Christian College (Phoenixville, Pa.) on Friday, January 13. In that game NCU was hit with four technical fouls, Bryce Burkman was ejected from the game and head coach Jon High chose to sit Jordan Harrell over the final 6 minutes after he was the recipient of the Rams final technical. That painful loss has seemed to spur the Rams to a level intensity that has resulted in the on going win streak.

That streak includes Roeder going for a school record 44 points, 21 points, and 34 points in consecutive Rams victories over Crown College (St. Bonifacius, Minn.), Providence College (Otterburne, Manitoba), and last night's victory over Martin Luther.

NCU will step away from game action until Tuesday, February 7 when the Rams will host the University of Minnesota-Morris (Morris, Minn.) for a 7:30 p.m. tip off with the Cougars.
