Skidmore takes down St. Lawrence, 63-57

Saratoga Springs, N.Y.-- Skidmore made the most of its second chances in a 63-57 Liberty League win over St. Lawrence, Tuesday night at the Williamson Sports Center.
 
The Thoroughbreds are 5-1 in league play and 11-4 overall, one game behind Liberty leader Hobart.  The Saints drop to 4-4 and 8-8.
 
Skidmore scored 19 second-chance points off 15 offensive rebounds in the win.
 
The teams traded leads eight times in the first half, with Kevin Dahill scoring on a lay-up with two seconds left to give the Thoroughbreds a 34-33 lead at the break. 
 
Skidmore led the entire second half, finally pushing the lead to 10, 58-48 on a Gerard O'Shea three with 5:43 to play.  The Saints could get no closer than six the rest of the way.
 
Terron Victoria, Brian Lowry, and John Mantas had 12 points each for the Thoroughbreds. O'Shea finished with 10 points and had a game-high six assists and five steals.  Victoria also had three steals, while Lowry hit four of five three-point attempts.
 
Skidmore scored 13 points off 15 SLU turnovers.
 
Ralph Temgoua and Al Jones led the Saints with 12 points each. Kyle Miller added 10 points.
 
 
The Thoroughbreds travel to Union on Friday for an 8 p.m. game and then return home Saturday for a first-place showdown with Hobart at 4 p.m.
 
St. Lawrence is at Vassar on Friday at 8 p.m.
