BOSTON, MASS. – Norwich University put two players in double digits en route to a Great Northeast Athletic Conference road victory Jan. 24.

The underclassman duo of sophomore guard Tommy McDonald (Groton, Mass.) and freshman forward Evan Tullar (Chelsea, Vt.) led the way during the 57-53 win at Emerson. McDonald, posting his third straight and ninth double-figure scoring game in the last 11 contests, scored 15 points due in large part to a three-of-six effort from outside the arc and a perfect four-for-four night at the charity stripe. Tullar, the reigning GNAC Rookie of the Week, reeled off his fourth double-figure game in his last six appearances, as he finished with 11 points, three steals and three assists to go along with a 50 percent outing from the field (five-of-10).

NU (5-11 overall, 4-6 GNAC) scored 18 of the game's first 22 points en route to a 33-23 halftime lead. The host Lions (1-16, 1-9 GNAC) rallied back in the second stanza to close within three twice. However, sophomore guard Nickolai Havoutis (Coral Gables, Fla.) hit two free throws and Tullar canned one of two in the final 18 seconds to seal the win.

Coach Paul Booth's team, winners of three of its last six, resumes a busy week Thursday, Jan. 26, as Johnson and Wales University of Rhode Island visits Andrews Gymnasium. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
