Junior forward John Nance finished with his first career double double with 22 points and 14 rebounds as No. 20 ranked St. Thomas scored a 77-59 road win at St. Mary's in Saturday men's basketball play.
The Tommies (12-4 overall, 9-2 MIAC) regained sole possession of the conference lead as 8-2 Augsburg was idle and 7-3 Gustavus lost at Bethel.
Playing without injured starters Tommy Hannon and Will DeBerg, St. Thomas overcame an early 26-15 deficit with a 15-0 run that put it ahead to stay.
UST shot 49 percent from the field and had a 27-6 edge in bench scoring. Zach Riedemann chipped in 14 points, Dylan Stewart scored eight and Marcus Alipate and Garret Maloney each scored six, all off the bench.
The Toms return home Wednesday to face Hamline.
