Five different Falcons scored in double figures as the Falcons rolled to an 88-76 victory over UW-Eau Claire at the Karges Center.

The scoring spree was led by Ollie White (Minnetrista, MN, Mound-Westonka HS) who had a career high 25 points to go along with seven rebounds.  White's previous career-high was 18, which happened in a game against Macalester earlier this season.  White finished the game 7-10 from the field and 11-14 from the charity stripe.  As a team, the Falcons would attempt 42 free throws, connecting on 32 of them for 71.4 percent.

UWRF shot a hot 52.9 percent from the field, connecting on 27-51, and it showed with the well-rounded scoring showcase.  Shane Manor (Altoona, WI, UW-Superior) and Wade Guerin (Bloomington, MN, St. Croix Lutheran HS) each had 15 points apiece.  Guerin also had 12 rebounds for his third double-double of the season.  His 12 rebounds led all players in a game in which the Falcons dominated the glass.  UWRF outrebounded UWEC 46-25.  Aaron Anderson (Stillwater, MN, Stillwater HS), White and Zach Peterson (Circle Pines, MN, Centennial HS) would each add seven boards.

Brian Kimble (Stevenson Ranch, CA, Coll. of Canyons JC) and Zach Peterson had 10 points to round out the double-digit scoring in a game the Falcons were in control of throughout.  The only time the Blugolds led was just 26 seconds into the game when Jordan Petersen opened the scoring with a layup to put UWEC up 2-0.

Petersen would lead all players with 36 points, but it wasn't enough when just under two minutes after Petersen's layup, Guerin drained a three-pointer to give the Falcons a lead they would never relinquish.  UWRF's largest lead was 19, which came with 7:11 to go in the game.

UWEC was 8-23 from three-pointers for 34.8 percent.  UWRF meanwhile was 4-13 for 30.8 percent.  The Blugolds also had a slight advantage in forcing turnovers.  The Blugolds forced 11 Falcon turnovers while the Falcons forced six from UWEC.

With the win, the Falcons improve to 12-4 overall and 6-1 in the WIAC.  The Falcons are also 6-0 at Karges. UWEC falls to 10-6 overall.  They are 3-5 in the WIAC.  River Falls improves to 82-105 all time against the Blugolds.

The Falcons will head on the road for their next three contests.  In their next match, they will travel to UW-Superior to take on the Yellowjackets at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18.  UWRF is 105-80 all time against Superior.
