Calvin Snaps Four-Game Losing Skid With Win Over Kalamazoo

The Calvin men's basketball team snapped a four-game losing skid with a 68-47 win over visiting Kalamazoo Wednesday night at Calvin's Van Noord Arena. Calvin (6-8 overall, 1-2 MIAA) shot 53.1 percent in the second half to pull away for the win after the two teams were tied at 27 at halftime. Junior Bryan Powell had 18 points including 12 in the second half while junior Tom Snikkers had 11 points and nine rebounds. Sophomores Jordan Mast and Tyler Kruis had eight points apiece with Kruis blocking four shots to go with seven rebounds while Mast nailed a pair of three-point shots. Calvin will travel to Alma on Saturday for a 3 p.m. contest.
