SAN ANTONIO – Charles Mosley (Jr., Hillsboro, Ore.) led four Pacific players to scores in double figures Wednesday as Pacific opened their voyage through the Trinity National Invitational Tournament with a 76-55 rout of Southwestern (Texas) in men's basketball action at Sams Gymnasium.

Mosley, who had been limited in the last two games due to early foul trouble, finished with 16 points on 8 of 12 from the field.  He led a Pacific team that won it's third straight game with an impressive overall shooting effort, connecting on 54.1 percent from the field (33-61) and 41.2 percent from three-point range (7-17).

Colin Wester (Jr., Sherwood, Ore.) scored 13 points to go along with four assists and two steals.  David Berney (Jr., Eugene, Ore.) and Cameron Hayes (So., Fife, Wash.) each scored, with Hayes coming off the bench to hit five of his seven shots.  Dustin Bowser (Jr., Bellingham, Wash.) pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds as the Boxers out-boarded the Pirates 41-22, which included 15 offensive boards.

Nick Atiee came off the bench to lead Southwestern (1-11) with 16 points, with 15 of those coming on three-pointers.  Adrian Johnson added 10 points as the Pirates managed just 37.5 percent from the field 18-48), but hit 11 of 17 from the free throw line.

Pacific never trailed in the contest, jumping out to a 7-0 lead with minutes gone and built it to a 17-6 advantage on Mosley's lay-in at the 9:37 mark.  Atiee brought the Pirates back to within six with his third three-pointer of the half, but the Boxers closed the half on a 14-8 run.  Hayes gave Pacific it's biggest lead of the half of 31-18 on Hayes' trey with 44 seconds left and went into halftime with a 33-21 lead.

The Boxers put the game away for good over the first 10 minutes of the second half, limiting the Pirates to just three three-pointers.  Hayes' lay-in put the Boxers up 20 points, 49-29, with 13:23 to go and Berney's three-pointer at the midway points gave Pacific their biggest lead of the game, 56-32.  Southwestern would come no closer than 17 points the rest of the contest.

The victory gives Pacific their second three-game win streak of the season and extends the team's best start since the 1996-97 conference championship team.

Pacific contributed to a strong start to the tournament for the Northwest Conference, with the league going 5-3 in thus far in the first two days.  The Boxers finish up tomorrow as they play host Trinity (Texas) with tip-off scheduled for 4 p.m. (CST).
