La Crosse had an early 10-4 lead with 16:22 on the clock, but that was erased by a 9-0 Whitewater run that gave UW-W a 13-10 lead with 10:39 left.  La Crosse never regained the lead.  With the score knotted at 13-13, UW-W ran off twelve unanswered points, nine of them by senior center Chris Davis, to take a 25-13 lead into the lockerroom.

Whitewater shot 37% in the first twenty minutes and had just three turnovers to nine for the Eagles.

Whitewater went up 31-16 with 17:43 left in the game, and UW-L whittled that down to five, 39-34 at 9:52.  UW-W out-scored La Crosse 17-6, including a 5-0 spurt, to make it 56-40 with 2:14 left.

UW-W brought its field goal percentage up to 45% for the game and La Crosse improved to 28%.  The Warhawks forced twice as many turnovers, 8 to 16.

Davis led both teams with 23 points, and shared game rebounding honors with teammate Luke Knoble, a junior forward, with eight.  Knoble also contributed 11 points.  Sophomore guard Alex Merg dished out a game high four assists.  UW-L was led by freshman guard Jack Taylor's 17 points, the only Eagle in double figures.  Freshman forward Lucas Collom topped UW-L with seven boards.

The Warhawks will travel to Eau Claire Saturday, part of a string of five consecutive road games for UW-W.  The next home game in Kachel Gym in Williams Center will be January 4 at 7:00, with Edgewood College visiting Whitewater.
