GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – For the sixth consecutive meeting, the Cabrini College men's basketball team emerged from its meeting with Colonial States Athletic Conference rival Gwynedd-Mercy College victorious.  Tonight, the #12 Cavaliers remained undefeated with a 101-91 win at Gwynedd-Mercy's Griffin Complex.  The win improves Cabrini's record to 6-0 and 4-0 in the CSAC.

The Griffins scored three of the first four baskets to take an early lead, but Cabrini rallied with for a 9-0 run, led by All-American Cory Lemons' seven points.  The Cavaliers continued to pressure Gwynedd-Mercy, extending the lead to 52-34 at halftime.

The Blue and White shot 64.7% from the floor before the break, including knocking down seven of its 13 three-point attempts.  Conversely, Cabrini held the Griffins to just 39.4% shooting and allowed just two made three-pointers.   

An early three-pointer from Cabrini sophomore Fran Rafferty gave the Cavaliers a 21-point advantage before the Griffins rallied.  Gwynedd-Mercy cut Cabrini's lead to just eight points with 13:50 to play after a 15-2 run. 

Back-to-back three-pointers by junior Jeremy Knowles slowed the Griffins and pushed Cabrini's advantage back to 12 points. 

The Blue and White put the game away during five minute span in the middle of the stanza.  Cabrini outscored Gwynedd-Mercy 23-10 in a decisive run to put the Cavaliers ahead 92-69 with just over six minutes to play.

Cabrini shot 56.1% from the floor including connecting on 13-25 three-pointers en route to its first 100 point scoring output since January 14, 2010.  On that night, the Cavaliers defeated Keystone College 100-98.

Knowles led four Cavaliers in double figure scoring with 28 points on 10-13 shooting, including 6-6 from beyond the three-point arc.  Lemons added 26 points and tied a career-high with 13 assists.  The senior also led Cabrini with seven rebounds and three steals.

Rafferty and senior John Boyd combined for 28 points and 11 rebounds in the win.

Brendan Stanton led the Griffins (5-3, 3-2 CSAC) with 17 points.

Cabrini will return to Nerney Field House on Saturday when it hosts the Baptist Bible College Defenders for a 1:00 p.m. CSAC game.
