ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley rallied from a late deficit to force overtime and beat Messiah, 84-82, in a thriller to open Commonwealth Conference play.

Cameron Prince went off for a career-high 23 points - including the game-tying three-pointer with nine seconds left - to lead the Dutchmen (5-1, 1-0 CC) to their fifth straight win.

Joe Meehan and Danny Brooks each scored 18 while Jordan Stewart turned in his fifth consecutive double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, but it was freshman Kevin Agnew who came off the bench and hit a go-ahead and-one in overtime that would give LVC the win.

LVC went to the line 39 times - making 28, including seven in overtime - to counter 11 Messiah three-pointers. LVC shot 48.2% for the game, but made just one shot in the extra period; Messiah shot 46.2% for the game.

The game was back and forth until Messiah ran away from a 53-53 tie midway through the second half with a blisteringly quick 9-0 run, starting with David Fernandez's three-point play and then back-to-back three-pointers by Zach Hoy and Taylor Groff. LVC clawed back into the game but Messiah nearly finished it when Derek Mosley canned a trey with 2:35 remaining to go up 72-65.

LVC got back in it, however, cutting the lead to a point after a pair of Prince foul shots with 22 seconds left. Hoy made it a 75-72 lead after the intentional foul, and Prince answered with a three-pointer from the wing with nine seconds left to tie it at 75-75. After a Falcon timeout with 2.8 seconds to go, Prince made a key steal on the inbound but was unable to connect on a halfcourt heave to win it.

In overtime, LVC led until a Hoy layup went ahead 79-78 with 1:03 to go. Agnew drew the bonus shot after a remarkable runner in the key to go up 81-79, and a missed three-pointer by Derek Mosley ended up with a loose-ball foul to send Prince to the line to make it a two-basket game with 31 ticks to go.

Mosley connected the next time down, and Prince only made one of two tries with 14 seconds left to leave the result in doubt until the final seconds. Messiah's Christyan DeVan missed a jumper but got his own board, and after a timeout with 1.2 seconds left, Taylor Groff took the inbound and missed short at the buzzer with the game-tying chance.

LVC will host Arcadia in CC play on Saturday at 3 p.m.
