Baruch Falls to Wesleyan

The Baruch College Bearcats suffered a 70-46 defeat to the Cardinals of Wesleyan University in a contest played on Saturday afternoon in Middletown, Connecticut.

The visiting Bearcats (1-4) led early at 17-10, but the Cardinals ended the first half with a 27-13 run and began the second with a 22-3 run to go on to record the non-conference victory between CUNYAC and
NESCACopponents.

The Bearcats began by shooting 48 percent (12-25) in the first half, but struggled in the second half from the field (3-24, 12.5%) and three-point range (1-9, 16.6%).

The Cardinals won the overall rebounding battle (50-28) to improve their season record to 3-1.


Nate Youngled the Bearcats with 13 points, while Fuat Yaparcame off the bench to score 11 points and grab five rebounds.

Julian Harris led the Cardinals with 14 points (5-9 fg) and two steals

The Bearcats will return to action on Tuesday, November 29, with a 7:00 pm non-conference contest at the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, New York.    

SCHEDULING NOTE: Please be advised the time of the home game against SUNY College at Purchase on Saturday, December 10, will now start at 2:00 pm, instead of 1:00 pm. The annual men's basketball alumni game will take place at 12:30 pm that day.
