BUFFALO, NY—Jake Simmons (Rochester/School of the Arts) netted 22 points and nationally-ranked No. 19 Buffalo State (2-0) raced past visiting Pitt-Bradford (1-3), 94-50, in a non-conference matchup tonight at the Sports Arena.

Nico McLean (Amherst/Amherst) bolstered a Bengals' offense that saw 15 players score, tallying 13 points to go with six rebounds, four assists and five steals.  Justin Mitchell (Buffalo/Bishop Timon) added 11 points, nine rebounds and four steals, and Norman Simmons (Rochester/East) and Roderick Epps (Uniondale/Uniondale) added nine points each.

Keith Burgess (Hillsdale, NJ/Hillsdale) lead Pitt-Bradford with eight points and added six rebounds.

Buffalo State led wire-to-wire, jumping out to a 13-1 lead, and continued to take advantage of the Panthers' inability to keep up on the break.  The Bengals scored 43 points on the fast break, compared to six by Pitt-Bradford, and forced 26 turnovers, while committing just 12.  Buffalo State led 47-24 at halftime and continued to pull away over the final 20 minutes.  The Bengals shot 49-percent from the field, and Pitt-Bradford shot just 27-percent.

Buffalo State will play another non-conference game next Tuesday at Houghton at 8 p.m.
