Greensboro Holds Off Bridgewater, 68-58

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Greensboro College outscored the Bridgewater College Eagles 16-5 in the final six minutes Friday evening to erase a one-point deficit and take a 68-58 win at the Hilton Garden Inn Invitational.

Turnovers and free throw shooting proved to be the difference in Friday's contest. The Eagles committed an unbelievable 35 turnovers and made just 12-of-21 free throws. Greensboro held a 10-point advantage at the charity stripe where The Pride made 22-of-26 attempts.

The Eagles were on top 28-26 at the half and, despite its large number of turnovers, still led 53-52 when David Larson made a layup with 5:53 left. The Pride then outscored the Eagles 16-5 the rest of the way to take the victory. 

Cody Griffith led the Eagles with 15 points and Ed Reddick added 10.  

The Eagles owned the backboards by a 43-31 margin with Ronnie Thomas pacing Bridgewater with seven boards. 

Luqman Tijani paced Greensboro with a game-high 17 points and seven rebounds.

Bridgewater will meet Johnson & Wales in the consolation game Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.. Johnson & Wales lost to Guilford College, 86-71.
