The Millikin men's basketball team lost its 2011-12 home opener to Rockford College 71-52 on Nov. 15.

          Both teams shot around the 40 percent mark with Rockford hitting 41 percent of its shots and the Big Blue connecting on 38 percent.  The Regents big advantage came on the boards where they out rebounded Millikin 42-27.

          Freshman Aaron Hall led Millikin in scoring with 16.  Matt Merrigan was also in double figures with 10.  Millikin had four players with a team high four rebounds including Hall, Merrigan, Rodney Clark and Brady Knapp.

          Tory Minnifield was Rockford's top scorer with 18.  Same Clones and Minnifield each pulled down eight rebounds to lead the Regents.

          Millikin will travel to Atlanta, Ga. on Nov. 18 to face Oglethorpe University.
