Maroons Fall at Case

CLEVELAND -- Case Western Reserve University's Austin Fowler scored 25 points to lead the host Spartans to an 88-73 win over the University of Chicago in University Athletic Association men's basketball action Friday night.

Chicago (7-12 overall, 4-4 UAA) fell behind 24-12 midway through the first half and trailed 44-36 at the break.

After trailing 54-44 early in the second half, the Maroons got as close as three points (54-51) when Michael Sustarsic hit a pair of free throws with 13:25 remaining.

Case (8-11, 4-4) went ahead 67-57 at the 8:11 mark on an Eric Duerr free throw and maintained a double-digit advantage the rest of the night.

Alex Hildebrandt and Duerr finished with 17 and 15 points, respectively, for the Spartans.

Matt Johnson paced the Maroons with 26 points, marking his third straight game with at least 25. Tom Williams added 10 points and a game-high nine rebounds.
