The Oswego State men's basketball team avenged its lone conference loss of the season on Tueday night by defeating Oneonta, 81-70, at Max Ziel Gymnasium.  Chad Burridge was one of four Laker players to reach double-digits with a team-leading 18 points, as the squad shot a blistering 57.1 percent from the field on 36-of-63 shooting.  The win pushed Oswego State's unbeaten streak to eight games as it improved to 15-3 overall and 11-1 in the conference.  Oneonta dropped to 6-13 on the season and 5-7 in the league.

Sean Michele set the tone for the game on the opening Laker possession when he drilled a three-pointer from the top of the arc to give Oswego State a lead it would never relinquish.  Seconds later, Burridge scored eight of his 18 points during a 10-2 run that allowed the Lakers to go ahead 15-5 four minutes into the contest.

Oswego State went on an 11-1 tear later in the half as Michele and Jose Uribe combined for three treys to push the margin to 38-22 with five minutes to go before the break.  The Lakers carried a 40-27 lead into the intermission as Hayden Ward scored two of his 13 points just before the buzzer.  Ward also contributed nine boards in the win.

In the second half, Derek Hahn erupted for 14 of his game-high 21 points to keep Oneonta in the game.  However, Oswego State put together a 3:30 span where it outscored the Red Dragons 13-2 to take a 65-45 lead midway through the stanza as it cruised to the double-digit win.

Other Lakers in double-figures included Ryan Sheridan and Michele, who scored 16 and 13 points, respectively.  Michele also dished out five assists.  The Red Dragons also received solid contributions from Brian Hooks, who scored 16, Troy Talbot, who added 14, and Shane Gillette, who tallied 12.

The Lakers look to continue their streak on Friday night when they host Cortland at 8 p.m.
