Men's Basketball Remains Perfect In NECC

BENNINGTON, Vt. – The Southern Vermont College men's basketball team fell to New England Collegiate Conference foe the Hawks of Becker College 73-41 Tuesday night. SVC was led by senior guard Lance Spratling who finished with 13 points, while Hawks guard Terrance Favors led all scorers with 21 points which brings him to 997 career points.

Southern Vermont falls to 11-6 overall (6-2 NECC), and Becker improves to 15-2 overall (7-0 NECC).

The Mountaineers shot 25% (8-32) from the field in the first half, while the Hawks shot a promising 51.5% (17-33) from the field, including 4-of-4 from behind the arc. Becker outrebounded SVC 56-37, but committed more turnovers 18-16. The Hawks took the advantage on turnovers converting 19 points to the Mountaineers 12.

Point guard Derrick Cenicola finished with 11 points for SVC, and Ben Naaktgeboren rounded out the box with 10 rebounds and three blocks.

Becker guard Rajai Leggett and forward Trae Jacobs finished with 16 and 10 points respectively.
