TROY, N.Y.—Rensselaer blocked 15 shots, but it wasn't enough to slow down the red hot Hobart Statesmen who picked up their seventh consecutive win 83-75. Sophomore guardStefan Thompson led all scorers with 25 points for Hobart.
The Engineers (9-6, 3-2) never trailed in the first half, leading by as many as 12 before the Statesmen (13-3, 5-0) closed out the session on a 10-4 run to go into the break trailing 43-40. The Statesmen seized control of the contest with an 18-2 run to start the second half. A layup by senior forward Adam Salzmann and a traditional three-point play by Thompson gave Hobart the lead.
