The Baruch men's basketball team edged the Yellow Jackets of City Tech, 65-63, in a CUNYAC road contest on Wednesday night in Brooklyn, New York.

With the result, coach Ray Rankis records the 400th win of his coaching career.

The visiting Bearcats improve their record to 10-8 overall and 4-2 in CUNYAC, while the Yellow Jackets drop to 1-14 overall and 0-6 in CUNYAC.

Tammer Farid hit the biggest shot of the evening with a long 3-pointer with 57 seconds remaining to give Baruch a 61-57 lead. Calvin Jurewicz-Johnson connected on two late free throws to help seal the victory.

Farid led a balanced scoring attack with 14 points (4-7, 3fg), while Jurewicz-Johnson (13 points, 4-5 fg), Chris Beauchamp (12 points) and Sean Loftus (10 points, 5-8 fg) also scored in double-digits to lead the team to the important conference road victory.

Overall, the Bearcats shot 40 percent (22-55), while the Yellow Jackets finished shooting 43 percent (27-63).

Manfred Cadet led the home team with 15 points and four assists.

The men's basketball team will return to action on Friday, January 21, with an 8:00 pm CUNYAC home contest against Brooklyn College.

Prior to the game, at 7:00 pm, the Annual John Rivera Alumni Game will take place with many former Baruch men's basketball players returning to play one more time in front of family and friends.
