Hot-shooting Tigers Roll to Fourth Straight Win

DePauw shot 52.8 percent from the floor and never trailed on the way to a 74-52 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win over Hendrix.

The Tigers improved to 10-6 overall and 5-2 in the SCAC, while the Warriors dropped to 4-11 overall and 0-7 in the conference.

DePauw shot 55.2 percent over the opening 20 minutes and gradually pulled away for a 36-25 halftime lead.

Hendrix scored the first two points of the second half to trim the Tigers' lead to single digits, but DePauw put together a 17-2 run which extended the lead to 24. The Warriors got no closer than 20 the rest of the way.

Ryan Sever and Michael Wilkison led DePauw as each scored a game-high 16 points. Ross Simpson and Sean Haseley added 10 points apiece. Haseley led the Tigers with seven rebounds as DePauw held a 33-31 advantage on the boards. The Tigers committed just six turnovers in the win.

Dane Nielsen paced Hendrix with 13 points,while Nick Heathscott added 11 points and a team-best seven rebounds.

DePauw travels to Trinity on Friday, January 21, for an 8 p.m. CST contest.
