ASHLAND, VA -- Brandon Braxton led four Yellow Jackets in double figures with 15 and nine rebounds as Randolph-Macon Men's Basketball (14-2 / 7-1 ODAC) defeated Emory and Henry 75-48 in Ashland Saturday. Adam Desgain chipped in with five three's for 15 points as well.
After being held scoreless for the first three and a half minutes, R-MC's Danny Jones knocked down a trifecta to put the Jackets up 3-2.
Desgain sunk a three on Randolph-Macon's next possession before a Braxton three point play pushed the advantage to 9-6.
With 3:07 to go in the first half, Jordan Brown was fouled as he dropped in a layup and converted the free throw to put R-MC up 34-25.
The teams exchanged buckets for the remained of the half and Randolph-Macon headed to the locker room with a 38-29 edge.
R-MC came out of the intermission firing with an 11 point run, eight of those coming from Braxton who capped the run with two free throws at the 15:12 mark to put the Jackets up 49-29
Emory and Henry cut the advantage to 51-39 on a layup by Malcolm Green with 11:51 on the clock but Randolph-Macon scored the next six and led by as many as 30 before winning by a final of 75-48.
Braxton led the way with 15 points and nine points while Desgain knocked down 5-of-8 threes for 15 points. Jones chipped in with 14 points and four boards and Eric Pugh joined in double figures with 11.
The Jackets held a 33-27 rebounding advantage and shot 44% from the field.
Randolph-Macon returns to the hardwood Wednesday, January 19th when they host Lynchburg College for a 7:00 ODAC contest
