WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's basketball team snapped its nine-game losing streak with a 66-60 non-league victory over Marymount Wednesday evening.

Senior Kevin Kline led the Hornets (2-11) with a game-high 16 points and became the 16th member of the men's basketball 1000-point club with his layup midway though the second half.

Kline was one of four SU starters in double figures, as classmates Brandon Bryan, Chris Christensen and Mitch Dudley added 15, 14 and 12 points, respectively.

Christensen posted new career highs in points, rebounds (a game-high 13), steals, five, and minutes played, 36, in the victory.

Shenandoah never trailed in the game, with Dudley getting the hosts started on a baseline jumper 35 seconds into the contest.

After Marymount (2-12) answered with an Tarek Ammoury runner at 18:55, Bryan gave his club the lead for good by draining a 3-pointer at 18:39.

Bryan's 'trey' started a 10-2 run for the Hornets and following a Dudley layup at 9:03, SU held a 20-10 advantage with 9:03 remaining in the first.

The lead eventually ballooned out to 17 points, 27-10, before the Saints closed out the first half with nine of the final 12 points of the stanza.

Christensen, who had nine of his 14 points following the break, scored the first four points of the second half to re-assert control for the hosts.

The lead remained at least seven points until MU made things interesting with a 12-4 run over 5:25 late in the second.

The deficit became just one, 57-56, with 2:15 remaining, before Bryan, Dudley, Christensen and Justin Long clinched the win by hitting 9 of 10 free throws in the last 59 seconds.

Stephen Simoneau paced the Saints with 13 points.

Shenandoah is back in action on Saturday at 4:00 against Averett.
