WENHAM, Mass. – Junior guard Adam Dombrokwski (Dunstable, Mass.) came off the bench to score 15 points, leading four double-figure scorers as the Wentworth men's basketball team rolled past Gordon, 79-47, in a non-conference contest played between the two The Commonwealth Coast Conference rivals.

The Fighting Scots got off to a fast start and took a 15-10 lead with 13:00 left in the first half on a layup by freshman guard Luke Hamilton (Mount Airy, N.C.).  Wentworth would go on a 25-6 run over the next eight and a half minutes and led, 35-21, thanks in part to Dombrowksi's shooting and strong inside play by senior forward Sam Herrick (Duxbury, Mass.).  Wentworth led by 18 (46-28) at the break after shooting over 53 percent from the floor.

A 20-6 run to open the second half opened the game up and gave the Leopards a 32-point (66-34) lead with just over 10:00 left in the game.

Freshman forward Derek Mayo (Casco, Maine) and Herrick each had 11 points, with Herrick grabbing nine rebounds.  Sophomore forward Corey Therriault (Auburn, Maine) chipped in with 10 points for the Leopards, who shot 52 percent from the floor for the game and held a 41-27 advantage on the glass.

Gordon got 14 points from sophomore forward David Dempsey (Wallingford, Conn.), while senior guard Austin Bentson (Branchville, N.J.) added 11 for the hosts.

With the win, Wentworth improves to 3-5 and travels to Moravian for the Greyhound Starters Classic this weekend where the Leopards will face the host Greyhounds on Sunday.  Gordon falls to 3-7 and faces Wheelock on Jan. 4.  The two teams will meet in the conference opener on Jan. 8, at Wentworth.
