Nashua, NH – Dennis Norford (New Haven, Conn.) led four players in double figures with a game high 24 points while Casey Pursell (Seattle, Wash.) added 16 points guiding Fisher College to a come-from-behind men's basketball victory over host Daniel Webster Tuesday night at the Mario Vagge Gymnasium.
Louis Williams (Burlington, Vt.) notched 13 points while Ny'Kee White (Suffolk, Va.) chipped in with 10 as the Falcons (2-6) rebounded from a 13-point deficit at the half.
Sophomore Keith Speed (Columbus, Ohio) led the Eagles (2-2) with 16 points including three three-pointers, while senior Chris Voukides (Salem, Mass.) notched nine points and seven boards and freshman Daris Cosby (Columbia, S.C.) added nine points.
Chris Hanson (Salem, Mass.) added eight points. Eric Suarez (Brooklyn, N.Y.) pulled down a team high nine boards and added seven points.
The Eagles shot 50-percent in the opening half but went cold in the second, hitting just 26-percent and turned the ball over 25 times on the night. Fisher, meanwhile hit just 27-percent in the opening frame but improved to 43-percent in the second.
Fisher ran off a 21-8 run over the opening 10 minutes of the half and tied the game for the first time on a Norford layup with 9:16 to go and went ahead for good on a White layup with 8:44 remaining.
The Eagles twice pulled within one down the stretch including a Suarez layup to make it a 61-60 game with 3:07 left.
But Williams answered with a three in the deep right pocket for a four-point lead and iced it with another from downtown with 1:13 left that extended the lead to 69-60.
The Eagles are off until November 30th when they visit Suffolk University in a regional matchup tipping off at 7:30 p.m.
Fisher visits Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) on December 3rd at 7:00 p.m.
