Randolph Men’s Hoops Opens Year with 75-32 Win Over Christendom College

FRONT ROYAL, VA – The Randolph College men's basketball squad opened its 2010-11 season in style Tuesday evening, as the WildCats breezed by Christendom College 75-32 in non-conference play from Crusader Gym.

Junior Derrick Woods-Morrow (Greensboro, NC/NE Guilford) scored a team-high 11 points, while Colton Hunt (Buford, GA/Smoky Mountain) and Malcolm Nelson (Richmond, VA/Trinity Episcopal) each netted 10 and eight points apiece respectively for the WildCats.

Sophomore Ahsan Ford (Virginia Beach, VA/Salem) knocked down all of his shots, scoring seven points and grabbing three boards in nine minutes. Sophomore Chris Ernestine (Beaufort, SC/Beaufort Academy) had eight points and four boards for Randolph, while senior Pete Hamilton (Roanoke, VA/Cave Spring) contributed with seven points.

Matt Rensch paced the host Crusaders (0-1) with 12 points on the evening. The WildCats shot 47.5 percent (29-61) from the floor, while forcing 32 Crusader turnovers. Randolph outscored their hosts 33-3 in points off turnovers, as the WildCats only committed 12 giveaways on the evening.

The WildCats (1-0) continue their season this weekend in the White Rose Classic, hosted by York (PA) College Friday and Saturday. Randolph will play Elizabethtown (PA) College at Friday at 8 p.m. in the opening night of the tournament.
