HIRAM, Ohio--Hiram ran past Mount Union, 71-53 in a non-conference men's basketball matchup Monday at Price Gymnasium in Hiram, Ohio.

The Terriers (1-0) never trailed and had three players in double figures as Chris Roberts and Chris Meyer each had 15 while Babajide Eniola had 14.

Matt Kiger (Williamstown, W.Va./Williamstown) had 10 points as the only player in double figures for Mount Union (0-1).

Hiram jumped out to an early 15-5 lead but the Purple Raiders responded with an 11-2 burst of their own to get back to within a point, 17-16, with just over seven minutes left in the half.  The Terrriers scored seven of the next 10 points, then kept Mount Union an arm's length away leading 34-31 at the half.

A Kiger jumper to start the second half had the visitors down 34-33, but Hiram then went on a decisive 25-8 run to take a commanding 59-41 lead and went on to the 71-53 victory.

Hiram had a 46-40 lead on the boards, including a 17-7 edge on the offensive glass and forced 21 Raider turnovers.
