Ashland, Va. – Marymount University's men's basketball team dropped its season opener 89-46 to second-ranked Randolph-Macon on Monday night.

Freshman Reed Scott paced the Saints (0-1) with 12 points and five rebounds, both team-highs.  Seniors Bryan DeBruin and Stephen Simoneau added seven and six points, respectively.

The Yellow Jackets (1-0) were hot from the floor all night, converting 60.7 percent of their field goals and 52.4 percent from three-point range.  Conversely, the Saints couldn't find their stroke, hitting just 32.6 percent of their shots.

Danny Jones led RMC with a game-high 26 points off the bench while Eric Pugh chipped in 13 and Brandon Braxton had 12.

Marymount returns to action on Friday as it hosts the MU-Marine Corps Tip-Off in Arlington.  The Saints take on Greensboro at 7 p.m. to open the tournament.
