Word came down from the NCAA on Thursday, March 12, that said that all championships, winter and spring, including the Division III basketball championships, have been canceled.

Yeshiva got its tournament off and running in front of nobody, Whitworth survived Nate West's 51 points, Nichols won with a shot with 2.2 seconds left, and Grove City gave its conference its first NCAA Tournament win in 18 years. All that and more was part of Friday's first-round action in the 2020 D-III men's basketball NCAA Tournament.

Fans banned from games at Johns Hopkins
The first- and second-round games at Johns Hopkins will be played in front of an empty gymnasium, because of fears regarding COVID-19. Yeshiva, WPI, Penn State-Harrisburg and Johns Hopkins will play their games without fans, as will teams in the women's tournament at Amherst.
