Cabrini and Wooster each got knocked off on their home floor, while Albertus Magnus won its rematch with SUNY-Purchase and UT-Dallas hit a 23-foot buzzer-beater at the buzzer in overtime to defeat Whitworth 78-77 in Saturday's second-round action.

Nolan Harvey hit a 3-pointer out beyond the top of the key for the Comets as time expired in overtime. The officials checked with the table to confirm the basket beat the buzzer and UT-Dallas advanced to the round of 16. Video at right.

"That daggone game had more twists and turns. ... It's all a blur to me. I have no answers." Terry Butterfield said immediately following the game on the game broadcast.

Kyle Schleigh had 25 to lead the way for the Comets, while Harvey added 18 points.

Josh Blamon scored a game-high 31 points as Richard Stockton knocked Cabrini out of the NCAA Tournament with an 85-76 win. Kevin Johnson added 15 for the Ospreys, who have snapped the NJAC's nine-game NCAA Tournament losing streak in stirring fashion. The win snaps Cabrini's streak of three consecutive Sweet 16 trips.

Dickinson took the lead for good on a pair of Gerry Wixted free throws with 5:20 left and survived a 3-point attempt by Doug Thorpe in the final seconds to knock off homestanding Wooster 67-64. The Red Devils led most of the second half before the Scots put together a 22-8 run to take a 60-58 lead. But Wooster could not hold on and got knocked out in the second round.

The maximum number of CCIW and WIAC teams the bracket will allow advanced to the Sweet 16. UW-Stevens Point defeated Central to move on, while UW-Whitewater defeated Augustana 87-68, making the Vikings the only team from either of the two Midwest power conferences not advancing. Wheaton (Ill.) rolled over Penn State-Behrend and Illinois Wesleyan handled St. Norbert 84-68 to make the round of 16. Brayden Teuscher led balanced scoring and Wheaton outscored Penn State-Behrend 41-15 in the second half of its 68-40 win.

K.J. Evans led Whitewater with 25 points, one of five scorers in double figures, and added 12 rebounds. Jordan Nelson came off the bench to score a game-high 20 points in Illinois Wesleyan's win, while four other Titans finished in double figures.

Wheaton and IWU will be in one sectional, while UW-Whitewater and UW-Stevens Point will be in the same bracket as well. Clayton Heuer scored almost as many points as Trevor Hass and Tyler Tillema put together, as he put in 24 and picked up 12 rebounds for top-ranked UW-Stevens Point in a 76-71 win vs. Central. Central cut a 15-point deficit to two with 6:29 to go, but Hass hit a 3-pointer and Joe Ritchay added another to push the lead back out to two possessions.

Mary Washington booked its first trip to the Sweet 16, as Taylor Johnson scored 22, Bradley Riester added 19 and the Eagles held DeSales to 28 percent shooting from the floor in a 77-49 win. "I'm proud of the way our guys played and handled themselves", said coach Rod Wood. "They kept their intensity and played to the most of their ability for nearly the whole game."

Morrisville State advanced to the round of 16 for the second year in a row, defeating Hobart 86-75. Brandon Hanks led the Mustangs with 18 points. Richie Bonney scored 24 points for the Statesmen, but shot 9-for-22 in the process.

DJ Woodmore clearly isn't ready for his career to end, as he scored 28 points in leading Virginia Wesleyan to a 79-74 win against Wesley. Trent Batson blocked seven shots for the Marlins, two of them on David Langan, who was just 5-for-13 from the floor.

Defending national champion Amherst closed the game on an 11-2 run to put away York (N.Y.) and advance to the Sweet 16 with a 63-51 win. David Kalema had a game-high 21 points for the Lord Jeffs, who also held a 51-34 rebounding advantage.
