After having its last four games postponed, No. 4 Illinois Wesleyan returned to action with a win over No. 9 North Central (Ill.). Elsewhere No. 6 Trine improved to 9-0 and the No. 3 East Texas Baptist women swept No. 10 Texas-Dallas.

Through Saturday, 180 women's teams have played at least one game, along with 175 men's teams.

Illinois Wesleyan had not played since its season opener at Carroll on Jan. 23, but the Titans didn't show any signs of rust against visiting North Central. The Titans shot 53 percent from the floor and hit 10 three-pointers in the first half on their way to a 52-42 halftime lead. The Cardinals shot an even higher percentage in the first half at 64 percent but Illinois Wesleyan had a 13-0 advantage on second-chance points.

North Central tried to mount a comeback and pulled within seven at 57-50 on Blaise Meredith's layup five minutes into the second half. Illinois Wesleyan called timeout to regroup and then scored the next eight points, starting with a Keondre Schumacher three and finishing with five points from Cody Mitchell. North Central did not threaten again. Box score

Schumacher led Illinois Wesleyan (2-0) with 23 points, most of which came from behind the arc where he shot 7 for 8. Mike Pollack scored 18 points for North Central (3-2) which has dropped two straight.

No. 6 Trine stayed perfect with a 76-70 road win over No. 8 Albion. The Thunder (9-0) scored 42 points in the paint with Nick Bowman tallying 27 points on 13 shots in 32 minutes. Cortez Garland and Caden Ebeling combined for 51 points for the Britons (3-2). The teams are scheduled to play again on Trine's home court in the MIAA regular season finale on Feb. 27.

No. 3 St. John's finished its game at Hamline on a 6-0 run and rallied past the Pipers, 79-75, in the conference opener for both teams. Hamline hung tough with the Johnnies and held several second-half leads, the last of which came when Jake Larson hit a jumper to break a 73-all tie with 1:25 to play. St. John's responded immediately with a Mitchell Plombon 3-pointer and then, after a Pipers' turnover, Plombon split a pair of free throws, giving the Johnnies a 77-75 lead. Hamline missed two shots on its next possession and Oakley Baker absorbed the foul for St. John's. His two free throws with three seconds left finished the scoring.

Zach Hanson led all players with 27 points and 12 rebounds.

Nebraska Wesleyan used a 20-0 regulation-ending run to erase a huge deficit at Loras, but the Duhawks prevailed in overtime, 105-97. Loras (4-2, 2-1 ARC) looked like it would cruise to victory when Jake Healy's jumper in the paint pushed the Duhawks' lead to 88-67 with 4:36 to play in the second half. Nebraska Wesleyan shut out Loras the rest of the period and tied the game on Peter Lash's two free throws with 18 seconds left. The Prairie Wolves (0-2, 0-2) extended their run to 22-0 by scoring the first basket in overtime before Loras regained control with a 10-0 run. Griffen Clark scored five points in 41 seconds, putting the Duhawks back in front for good.

Riley Miller was on fire from beyond the arc for St. Thomas, as the Tommies went up to Concordia-Moorhead and came away victorious by the score of 90-61. Miller scored a game-high 30 points, shooting 8-for-9 from beyond the arc in the win. Anders Nelson finished with 22 points and five assists. The Cobbers (0-1) were tied up at 21 before St. Thomas (2-0) went on a 26-10 run headed into halftime.

Four DePauw starters scored double figures and the Tigers (5-0) rolled over Ohio Wesleyan, 89-56, to take both games from the Battling Bishops. DePauw is scheduled to play Wooster next weekend in what would be the Scots' season debut and first official game since long-time head coach Steve Moore retired at the end of last season.

The Keene State men got back on the court after 14 days off, and freshmen Nate Siow and Mason Jean Baptiste combined for 33 points to lift the Owls to a 74-73 win against Plymouth State. Siow hit a pair of free throws with the clock running down to give Keene State some breathing room, rendering a three at the buzzer by Plymouth State's Dante Rivera meaningless to the outcome.

Sewanee athletic teams have not been allowed to leave campus, and because of that, it has been hard to find opponents. But when Centre was forced to shut down for a while because of COVID, Birmingham-Southern decided it was worth hitting the road. And the Panthers made the road trip worth it, coming away with an 82-65 win. It's BSC's ninth game of the season. Cameron Glover posted a team-high 16 points in 18 minutes off the bench for the Panthers.

In Saturday's women's action, No. 3 East Texas Baptist cleared another hurdle in its pursuit of a perfect regular season. The Tigers (18-0) held off No. 10 Texas-Dallas, 59-48, to sweep the regular season series from the Comets. East Texas Baptist held Texas-Dallas to 2-for-14 shooting and outscored the Comets 15-5 in the decisive second quarter and led for the whole second half. ETBU's Mallory Stephens led all scorers with 18 points.

No. 9 Austin started and finished strong in a 63-46 bounce-back win over St. Thomas (Texas). After losing to the Celts on Friday night, Austin outscored St. Thomas 17-7 in the first quarter and 21-7 in the fourth. Ally Longaker and Kacie West scored 15 points apiece for the Kangaroos (5-1).

St. Thomas (Minn.) took the lead with just 38 seconds remaining on a driving basket by Macy Hatlestad and held on to defeat Concordia-Moorhead 63-58. The Tommies (2-0, 1-0 MIAC) salvaged a win on a day in which they shot just 31% from the floor. UST won thanks to scoring 20 second chance points and turning the ball over just eight times. The Tommies missed 43 field goal attempts but managed 19 offensive rebounds.

Texas Lutheran scored the first 13 points of the game, but Southwestern rallied, taking the lead for good on a 3-pointer by Lauren Fulenwider with 11 seconds left and holding on against three Texas Lutheran attempts to win 48-45. Noel Pratts scored 18 points to lead the Pirates (2-6, 2-6 SCAC), while Fulenwider added 12.

Bluffton started 12-1, thanks in no small part to six wins against Manchester. But the Beavers lost to Mount St. Joseph for the second day in a row, losing at home on Saturday 61-55. Maddie Haberthy scored 21 points for the Lions (3-1), including 4-for-8 shooting from 3-point range. MSJ was 12-for-22 from beyond the arc. Brianna Gillig led Bluffton (12-3) with 21 points and 10 boards.
