Transylvania rallied from a nine-point deficit with under a minute left and won at the buzzer, while Sul Ross State also won late and the Hardin-Simmons women knocked off Mary Hardin-Baylor.

Lucas Gentry capped off a big night and a thrilling comeback for Transylvania by catching a deflected 75-foot inbound pass and hitting a game-winning shot at the buzzer, as the Pioneers defeated Mount St. Joseph, 63-62. The Lions (0-5) led 60-51 with one minute to play when Gentry started the rally with a three-pointer. Gentry's layup with seven seconds left gave the Pioneers (2-6) a 61-60 lead that was quickly erased by Willard Cluxton's basket with two seconds remaining. Trine hit 10 three-pointers and shot 21 for 23 from the foul line in a 97-75 win over Alma. Nick Bowman scored 30 points in 32 minutes for the Thunder (4-0).

The ASC had a full slate of games planned but only managed to have three played on each side.

Louisiana College held Texas-Dallas' Demetrious Underwood, Jr to a merely very good night and got 36 points from Kae'ron Baker in a 90-75 win over the Comets. Underwood had triple-doubles in his first two games but had to settle for 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Tristen Licon's jumper with seven seconds left was the difference as Sul Ross State edged East Texas Baptist, 72-70. Byrale Carter scored all but one of his game-high 19 points in the second half, and Mary Hardin-Baylor topped Hardin-Simmons, 77-67.

In women's action, Hardin-Simmons prevailed over the Crusaders by holding them to 22 second-half points in a 68-55 Cowgirls' victory. Brittany Schnabel scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds in 40 minutes for Hardin-Simmons, which improved to 7-3, 2-2 in the ASC. East Texas Baptist ourebounded Sul Ross State by 18 and outscored the Lobos by 11 in a 68-57 home win. Mallory Stephens led the way with 17 points for the Tigers (13-0, 5-0 ASC).

Roanoke defeated Shenandoah 65-52 in the first game played by ODAC women's teams this season. Renee Alquiza scored 20 points for the Maroons while Sierra St. Cyr scored 16 for Shenandoah.
