The Lewis & Clark Pioneers will have new leadership when the 2018-19 season begins next fall. Athletic director Shana Levine announced March 15 that Dinari Foreman will not return after seven seasons as men's basketball head coach.
Lewis & Clark will begin a national search for a new head coach immediately, with the goal of filling the position by May 1.
The Pioneers were 8-17 this past season, marking their third consecutive season with a losing mark.
"I wish to thank Dinari for his efforts as our men's basketball head coach," said Levine. "As one of our most-decorated student-athletes and a member of the Lewis & Clark Hall of Fame, his contributions to Pioneers athletics are in many ways unparalleled."
As head coach, Foreman took the Pioneers to a 90-89 record over his seven seasons and four straight Northwest Conference Championship tournament appearances from 2011-15. Foreman has been on the Lewis & Clark coaching staff since 2001-02 when he joined as a part-time assistant. In 2007, he was promoted to associate head coach before being named the head coach for the 2011-12 season.
Foreman graduated from Lewis & Clark in 1995 after a two-year playing career for the Pioneers that saw him finish second in the nation in scoring one season and helping the team to two conference championships. Lewis & Clark advanced to the semifinals of the 1995 NAIA national turnament, and Foreman earned NAIA First-Team All-America honors that season. His 25.7 points-per-game average during his senior year is the second-best in the history of the program. In 2005, Foreman was inducted into the Lewis & Clark Hall of Fame.
