Westminster (Mo.) College selected James Arnold as its new head women's basketball coach, filling the vacancy created when Tracey Braden took the job at Sewanee.

The College announced the hire on Monday.
"We are excited to welcome Coach Arnold into the Blue Jay family," said Senior Director of Athletic Advancement Matt Mitchell in the College's release. "Coach Arnold is someone that we feel will bring a great deal of experience and excitement to our women's program as well as our department. He has an outstanding track record of developing student athletes on and off the floor."
Arnold was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for Division I Southeastern Missouri State University. Before that he was the head coach at NAIA Central Methodist Universty where he went 79-45 in four seasons with the Eagles. Arnold also has nine years of head coaching experience at two junior colleges.
"I'd like to thank [President Benjamin] Akande, the committee, and Coach Mitchell for this wonderful opportunity," said Arnold in the release. "I am extremely excited about inheriting a program in such great shape. Coach Braden did a wonderful job and experienced a ton of success during her time. The pieces are there for us to continue the program's trajectory, and the sky is the limit."
Braden went 155-100 in 10 seasons with the Blue Jays and went to the NCAA Tournament in 2012 and 2013.
Westminster finished 9-15, 7-9 in the SLIAC last season.
