Williams and Trinity (Conn.) bounced their arch rivals from the first round of the NESCAC tournament while Calvin edged Hope in overtime in their regular season finale.

After starting the season as the No. 1 team in the country, Amherst will have a long wait to see if its season will continue. Williams defeated No. 18 Amherst 76-69 in the NESCAC quarterfinals, pushing the Purple and White into the pool of teams needing an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament. Williams hit three 3-pointers over a two-minute span midway through the second half as part of a decisive 20-2 run. Daniel Aronowitz scored 22 points for Williams (18-7). Amherst (17-7) will await the announcement of at-large bids on Monday, Feb. 27.

Ed Ogundeko's jumper with two seconds left completed Trinity's 51-49 come-from-behind win over No. 24 Wesleyan in the NESCAC quarterfinals. Wesleyan took the lead two minutes into the game and held it until the Bantams tied the game with two minutes left. The Cardinals regained the lead on Kevin O'Brien's layup before Ogundeko answered with a layup to retie the game at 49. Wesleyan missed a layup and two free throws on its next possession, setting up the Bantams' game-winning opportunity.

Calvin held No. 16 Hope to one field goal in overtime and edged the Flying Dutchmen 65-62 to split the season series with its arch rival. In a game with 22 lead changes, Calvin took the lead for good on Cam Denney's dunk with 2:42 to play in overtime. The Knights' reserves outscored Hope's 44-22, led by Mike Siegel's 20 points. North Park won a thriller over No. 23 Augustana 87-82 in overtime to set up a crazy final day of conference play in the CCIW. North Park led Augustana by five with less than three minutes to play in regulation when Augustana's Jacob Johnston scored five straight points to tie the game. Chrishawn Orange and Juwan Henry exchanged free throws in the final minute and regulation ended in a 68-all tie. North Park opened the extra period on an 11-1 run and Augustana could not respond.

Henry scored 15 points including the 2,000th of his career and Colin Lake led North Park with 26 points. Johnston finished with 22 for Augustana. North Park pulled within one game of Augustana in the CCIW standings and Carthage crushed Millikin 99-66 to also pull within one game of first.

North Central (Ill.) edged Illinois Wesleyan 82-80 in overtime to put itself a half-game in front of the Titans and two other teams for the fourth and final playoff spot in the CCIW tournament. The Titans, Wheaton (Ill.) and Carroll are all 8-7 with one game remaining, creating the possibility of a four-way tie for the last playoff spot. CCIW standings

Nick Comenale hit a three with 1.1 seconds left and No. 1 Babson rallied past MIT, 70-67. The Engineers led the top-ranked Beavers 40-28 at the half but only managed 27 points in the second half. This meeting was remniscient of the first game between the teams when Babson rallied from a 13-point halftime deficit to beat MIT on Jan. 18. Recap

No. 2 Whitman rolled past George Fox 109-95 to complete a perfect regular season. Jase Harrison scored 30 points and Joey Hewitt added 28 more for the Blues (25-0, 16-0 NWC).

No. 9 Marietta overpowered Ohio Northern 100-85 to clinch the top spot in the OAC tournament. Jack Thome scored 28 for the Pioneers(21-4, 16-2 OAC) who have won 12 straight.

Derek Rongstad and Chris Jones scored five points apiece in overtime to push No. 17 UW-Whitewater past UW-Eau Claire, 70-68. The Warhawks (20-5, 9-5 WIAC) will be the third seed in the WIAC tournament and the Blugolds will be fourth. UW-Oshkosh defeated UW-Stout 73-55 to grab the second seed and the second bye in the WIAC tournament.

Outside the Top 25, Delaware Valley completed an impressive week with a 76-67 victory at DeSales to take the top spot in the MAC Freedom playoffs. The Aggies needed wins against the Bulldogs and Eastern in their final two games to claim first place and completed the feat, thanks to 21 points from Tyliek Kimbrough.

Widener beat Alvernia 78-73 for its ninth win in 10 games and claimed the second seed in the MAC Commonwealth playoffs. Albright overpowered Messiah 92-67 to take the third seed and avoid the play-in game in the MAC Commonwealth playoffs.

Playing for nothing but pride, Keystone and Cairn put on a show as the Highlanders defeated the Giants 111-108 in four overtimes. Jeremiah Harris ended the marathon with a three-pointer with less than two seconds left in a battle between two teams that finished outside the CSAC playoff picture. Cairn's starters scored 102 points led by 30 from Gerroid Doughty II playing in his final game as a senior.
