As Elizabethtown enters the final month of the regular season, Bob Schlosser has won 363 games in 27 years with the Blue Jays. |
Elizabethtown College announced that Bob Schlosser, who coached 27 years and won more than 360 games at the College, will retire from his positions as men's head basketball coach and associate director of athletics at the end of the 2016-17 academic year.

Schlosser took over the Blue Jays' program in 1990 and led Elizabethtown to the 1993 NCAA tournament, the program's first tournament appearance since 1979. Elizabethtown's best season under Schlosser came in 2001-2002 when the Blue Jays went 29-3, won the MAC Commonwealth title and beat Rochester in the national semifinals, before falling to Otterbein in the national title game. The Blue Jays won the MAC Commonwealth title and played in the NCAA tournament the next two seasons.
"It has been an honor, privilege and blessing to work at Elizabethtown College over the last 27 years," Schlosser said in the school's release. "I've been able to develop many relationships with students and student-athletes, but it's also the relationships I've made with faculty, staff and everyone associated with the College that will stay with me for the rest of my days."
Schlosser has three sons, all of whom graduated from Elizabethtown and coach in Division III. Eldest son Ben played for the Blue Jays from 2005-2008, graduated and works as an assistant on his father's staff. Sam graduated in 2010 and is an assistant under Don Friday at Penn-State Harrisburg. Will graduated in 2015 and is a graduate assistant under Charlie Brock at Springfield.
With six games remaining in the regular season, the Blue Jays are 4-14, 1-7 in the Landmark Conference. Elizabethtown concludes the regular season at home against Susquehanna on Saturday, February 18.
