The end of the academic semester means travel to warmer climates for some teams. No. 20 North Central (Ill.) beat No. 19 Wartburg in Florida while the DePauw women upended No. 9 UW-Oshkosh in Puerto Rico.
North Central got game-tying threes at the end of regulation and overtime, and then finally topped Wartburg 94-91 in double overtime at the Cruzin Classic in Fort Lauderdale.
Wartburg held a four-point lead with 16 seconds left in regulation when Alex Sorenson scored a layup to cut the deficit to two. After the Knights split a pair of free throws, North Central's Aiden Chang hit a three with one second left to send the game to overtime. In the first extra period Jagger Anderson hit a three with four seconds left to tie the game at 86. The Cardinals scored the first six points in double-overtime and held on for the victory.
Sorenson (24 points, 10 rebounds) and Erwin Henry (24 points, 13 rebounds) notched double-doubles for North Central (7-3). Jordan Sabus scored 22 points in just 20 minutes for Wartburg (9-2). Box score
In other holiday tournament action, No. 17 Wesleyan held off Washington and Lee 66-61 in Daytona Beach. The Cardinals shot 41 percent in the second half and held the Generals to 22 percent shooting as Wesleyan rallied from a five-point halftime deficit. Wesleyan (10-0) will face a much stiffer test tomorrow when it plays No. 4 Marietta. Box score
No. 14 Susquehanna defeated Eastern 82-76 in a battle of two Pennsylvania teams playing in Miami, Florida. Ryan Traub and Tyler Hoagland combined for 56 points for the River Hawks (9-1).
In local action, UW-Oshkosh sent No. 7 St. Norbert to its second loss of the season. D.J. DeValk scored 21 points for St. Norbert but the rest of the Green Knights managed just 24 points, and the Titans cruised to a 58-45 victory. Oshkosh led 42-20 at the break and used 15 players in the second half. Box score
No. 18 Illinois Wesleyan handled Chicago 74-52 in the last game for both teams before the holiday break. The Titans outscored the Maroons 33-12 from three with Jaylen Beasley hitting four trifectas for Illinois Wesleyan (8-2). Box score
Women: DePauw, DeSales and Augustana stay hot

Holiday tournaments in Puerto Rico often produce surprising results, and they did so again this year with DePauw upending No. 9 UW-Oshkosh 60-56 in San Juan.
After DePauw jumped out to a 17-6 lead, Oshkosh rallied closed the deficit to one point at the half. The Tigers and Titans played each other evenly the rest of the way, with DePauw seizing the lead for good on a Maya Howard jumper midway through the third quarter.
Howard scored 10 of her 17 points in the third period for DePauw (9-1), which has won six straight. Eliza Campbell had 17 points for Oshkosh (7-1). Box score
DeSales led wire-to-wire in an 88-67 victory over No. 19 Albright. The Bulldogs shot 55 percent from the field as Leandra Sterner led the way with 22 points. DeSales improves to 7-1 while the Lions slip to 7-2.
Augustana used a balanced attack to knock off No. 16 UW-Whitewater 86-78 in a battle of unbeaten teams. The Vikings got 14 points from Corrie Reiley, 12 a piece from Olivia Mayer and Mikayla Fallon and 11 from Izzy Anderson, including seven in the final 36 seconds. The Warhawks (8-1) got 26 from Malia Smith. Box score
No. 3 Scranton fought back from a six-point halftime deficit to defeat Lebanon Valley, 63-52. Alexix Roman scored 22 points, including 14 in the third quarter, and the Royals ran their regular-season winning streak to 33 games. Abby Owings reached the 1,000 point landmark and No. 4 Thomas More took care of NAIA Ohio Christian, 87-59.
Outside the Top 25, New Jersey City obliterated USCAA member Vaughn 123-44 as the Gothic Knights set new school records for points, rebounds (68), assists (35), made field goals (48) and field goal attempts (102).
