Edgewood selected Chaia Huff as its new head women's basketball coach, replacing Casey Thousand who left the Eagles to take an assistant coaching position at Northern Michigan. Huff comes to Madison from Omaha, Nebraska where she was the head coach  for one season at Grace University.

"I am excited to have Coach Huff join our Athletics Department," said Director of Athletics Al Brisack in a release. "It is not often a search committee completes the process and has all the 'need' and 'want' boxes checked off. That's exactly what happened in this process."

Huff spent last season as the head coach at Grace University and the prior six as the head coach at her alma mater Moody Bible in Chicago. Huff led the Archers to a 81-73 record during that period, including a 20-win season in 2010-11. Huff started her coaching career with two seasons as an assistant at NACC member Dominican in 2007.

Huff replaces Casey Thousand who went 83-97 in seven seasons at Edgewood. The Eagles finished 7-18, 6-14 in the NACC last season.
