Newbury changes women's coach

After changing its men's coach earlier this offseason, Newbury College also made a change atop its women's program.

Athletic Director Jonanthan Harper announced that Springfield College graduate assistant Marc Taney will take over for Nate Stailey who was released.

"We are eager to welcome Marc to the Newbury College Athletic Department," said Harper in a release. "Marc's knowledge of and passion for coaching, coupled with his spirited focus on recruiting student-athletes from across the nation, made him an ideal fit for this position and for Newbury. He has worked with proven coaches and has been a part of strong programs."

Taney worked on Naomi Graves staff last season at Springfield and previously served as assistant coach at Keene State for two seasons. He also has nine years experience at the high school and AAU levels. Taney did his undergraduate studies at Western Connecticut before earning his master's degree in sport management at Springfield.

He replaces Nate Stailey who 23-55 in three seaons with the Nighthawks. They finished 10-18, 7-11 last season.
