Sherry Dobbs is out after 13 seasons as the men's basketball head coach at SUNY Potsdam following his team's 1-24 result this season.
The Bears were 150-214 under Dobbs. His one win this season put him second all-time among Potsdam men's basketball coaches, following Jerry Welsh, who led Potsdam on its NCAA Tournament runs in the 1970s and 1980s.
Dobbs' teams advanced as far as the Elite 8 in 2005, but the Bears were 8-66 combined over the past three seasons.
Dobbs was an assistant women's basketball coach at Potsdam, then served stints as a men's assistant at St. Lawrence and Ithaca before succeeding Mitchell in the head coaching spot in 2003-04.
