Neither matchup of Top 25 teams from Saturday's schedule materialized into much of a battle, as the higher-ranked teams, No. 6 Tufts and No. 16 St. Thomas, each won easily against conference rivals.

Hannah Foley led all scorers with 22 points and the Tufts defense did a number on Williams as the Jumbos slowed down the No. 15 Ephs on Williams' home floor, 64-45.

The Ephs starters shot 12-for-44 from the floor (27%) and the bench did no better (2-for-9, 22%) in the defeat. Tufts needs a win against Colby or Bowdoin next weekend to clinch home court in the NESCAC tournament.

Eighteenth-ranked St. Mary's (Minn.) hit just three of its first 25 shots from the field and never quite recovered in the 65-48 loss at the No. 16 Tommies. The loss snapped a 16-game win streak for the Cardinals, one which included a two-point home win vs. the Tommies on Jan. 11. St. Mary's and St. Thomas are tied at the top of the MIAC standings, each at 16-2 in the league.

Washington and Jefferson held Thomas More to a human score, but it wasn't nearly low enough as the fifth-ranked Saints still won 65-52 at home. Sydney Moss scored 27 points but Thomas More was just 5-for-20 from long range, while W&J was 6-for-8. Thomas More led by as many as 21 in the second half before the Presidents battled back into the game. Moss, a sophomore, reached the 1,000-point mark for her career, including the 438 points she scored as a freshman last year at Florida.

Cornell edged Carroll 92-90 in a back-and-forth double-overtime battle that had 14 ties and 14 lead changes. Rikki Mulroy had 23 points and Taylor Dicus added 25 more for the Rams, who are a half-game behind St. Norbert in the MWC.

Melanie Patterson filled the stat sheet for William Smith and the Herons rallied past Vassar in overtime, 75-72. Patterson had 24 points, seven rebounds, six assists and five steals. Cydni Matsuoka had 19 points and 10 assists for the Brewers.

Brittany Hicks scored a game-high 24 points as No. 10 York (Pa.) improved to 20-1, 12-1 in the CAC with a 78-62 win vs. Marymount. The Spartans' defense harrassed the Saints (13-8, 8-4) into 25 turnovers.

Still without Megan Robertson, Amherst played just eight players but it was enough to lift the No. 12 Lord Jeffs past Wesleyan 51-39. Hannah Peterson led the way with 13 points, while Jaimie Renner added 11.

Melissa Tobie tied a career high with 32 points and added nine rebounds, four assists, three blocks and three steals in helping No. 14 Montclair State lock up a first-round bye in the NJAC tournament with an 86-64 win over Richard Stockton. Montclair is 20-2, 14-1 in the NJAC.

Whitworth converted 20 Pacific Lutheran turnovers into 24 points and cruised past the Lutes, 89-56. The victory gives head coach Helen Higgs 300 in her career.

UT-Tyler tied the school record for wins in a season, rolling over Sul Ross State 91-53 to improve to 18-2. The Patriots' losses are at home to Rhodes and at Mary Hardin-Baylor.

McDaniel handed Haverford its first loss to anyone other than Johns Hopkins, as the Green Terror got 18 from Steph Perez and another 18 off the bench from Lindsey Nichols in defeating the Fords in overtime 69-63. Haverford fell to 17-3, 11-3 in the Centennial, while McDaniel improved to 15-5, 10-4.

Shannon Allan nailed a 3-pointer with 11 seconds left to lift Lynchburg to a 79-78 victory at Bridgewater (Va.). Lynchburg is 10-2 in the ODAC, 13-8 overall, a game behind Eastern Mennonite.
