No. 7 UW-Whitewater edged top-ranked UW-Stevens Point 81-76 in overtime, ending the Pointers' bid for a perfect regular season.

The Pointers led at Whitewater 68-64 in the final minute of regulation, but did not make their free throws to seal the victory. After Tyler Tillema made one of two shots to give Stevens Point a four-point lead, Quardell Young hit a three to pull the Warhawks within one. Whitewater fouled Joe Ritchay on the Pointers' next possession and he made one of two shots to push the lead to 69-67. Young answered with a layup at the other end and was fouled, but he also missed the free throw, sending the game to overtime.

In the extra session, KJ Evans took over for Whitewater. He hit a three to tie the game at 74 and made five of six free throws in the final minutes to give the Warhawks the lead for good.

UW-Whitewater's victory was even more special because the Warhawks were led by assistant coach Nick Bennett, who led Stevens Point to two national titles as a player in 2004 and 2005. Bennett coached in place of Pat Miller who was sidelined after surgery.
