Messiah remained unbeaten and sent No. 17 Guilford to its third consecutive loss in the process, defeating the Quakers on their home floor on Saturday, 82-72.

Guilford knocked a 16-point second-half deficit all the way down to three with 2:05 left and had a shot to tie the game but Trever Hyatt's 3-pointer rimmed out and the Falcons scored nine of the game's final 11 points. Full story.

After two weeks off for the holiday break, the D3hoops.com Top 25 returns with a new poll on Monday evening and voters will have plenty to consider. SUNY-Purchase returned from a 28-day layoff with an 86-78 win vs. Skyline Conference rival SUNY-Old Westbury to improve to 8-0.

Eighth-ranked WPI continues to hang on without standout guard Marco Coppola, surviving a battle with local rival Becker and beating the Hawks 70-64. The Engineers got 30 points from Sam Longwell in the win, including six 3-pointers.

Scranton improved to 10-2 behind a combined 45 points from Ross Danzig (24) and Brendan Boken (21) in an 83-68 win against Wilkes. Mary Washington won its eighth in a row, rolling to an 80-60 win against York (Pa.). The Eagles are 10-1, while the Spartans are struggling for the second consecutive season and fell to 1-10. Bradley Riester scored 28 points and added nine rebounds for the Eagles.

Tyler Tillema and Trevor Hass combined for another big day as they had 34 points on 12-for-24 shooting as top-ranked UW-Stevens Point defeated UW-La Crosse 74-61. The Eagles led briefly in the second half before the Pointers pulled away. Tyler Peters scored 27 of his 29 points after halftime to help lift No. 24 Wheaton (Ill.) past Millikin 92-84 in overtime.

Jack Taylor was held to 1-for-9 shooting from beyond the arc and just 17 points as Ripon defeated Grinnell 126-99 in a Midwest Conference game. Kyle Loughrin led seven Ripon scorers in double figures with 23 points, while Ty Sabin added 22 and Brendan McCoy had 21 in the win.

Bard surpassed its win total from the entirety of last season, defeating former conference rival SUNY-Maritime 75-66 to improve to 5-4. Bard had won five games just once in the previous five seasons, and hasn't won more than five since the 2007-08 campaign. 

Richard Stockton improved to 10-1 with a win vs. Rutgers-Newark while William Paterson, which handed the Ospreys their only loss, won a non-conference game at Skidmore. Sandy Burgos and Javae King-Gilchrist scored 27 and 21 points respectively in the win.
